An app to catalog your style

I wanted to learn how to develop mobile apps. So I set about designing a product that helps people organize their wardrobe, find things to wear, and make the most of the stuff they already have.

The result is Patina - a social style journal - that lets users catalog the items in their wardrobe, and tag these items in photos of their outfits. This creates a simple but useful visual overview of the outfits you like to wear.

The landing page for the Patina app in its beta stage.

After building up a small but engaged userbase, I developed a web-based frontend, which allows people to share their profile with friends or on social media. This way, more people can check out the outfits they wore.

The iOS app is built in React Native, using Firebase Realtime Database for the backend. The webview uses the same backend, but uses React for the frontend.

A fun, retro-styled ad I designed to encourage people to check out the app.

Since I did everything myself - including the design, code, testing, and marketing - this was a brilliant learning experience for me.

You can learn more and join the beta on the Patina website.
